"Feminism and Women in Alberta" Conference

Feminist Edmonton Events is hosting its second annual conference, titled "Feminism and Women in Alberta." The conference will be held on February 23, 2013, starting at 9 a.m. (doors open at 8:30 a.m.) at Grant MacEwan University, City Centre Campus, Building 9, room 9-207. Building 9 is the Robbins Health Learning Centre at the north- west corner of 109St and 104 Avenue (see map at http://www.macewan.ca/contribute/groups/public/documents/document/robbins_map.pdf). The conference is free of charge and fully accessible.

The conference will start with a discussion on "How does feminism relate to your life?" Conference topics will include the experience of a woman of colour with feminism in Alberta; a discussion session with midwives from Lucina Birth and Family Wellness Centre, a workshop on privilege, and a panel discussion on solidarity. Speakers include Sandra Azocar, Ev Hamdon, and Nicki Anderson. Other topics and speakers are still to be confirmed.
